Mackenzy Vida
Mack of many trades
ABOUT
Mackenzy Vida is a multidisciplinary artist from Treaty 4 Regina, SK with a focus on illustration, painting, and printmaking. Art therapy in early childhood ignited her passion for creativity. Through expressive linework, she highlights moments of connection and vulnerability, exploring her practice as an emerging Francophone artist on the prairies. During her undergraduate studies, Vida studied art history in Italy (2018) and gained valuable experience as a mentee designer at Globe Theatre (2019). Countless hours spent in the studios of the University of Regina further enriched her artistic journey. Following the pandemic, Vida tenaciously began to navigate work as an independent artist from 2020 to 2022. In the following years, her love for printmaking brought her to Kyoto, Japan (2023). Fall 2024 she attended a residency at the Barcelona Engraving Studio.
Vida is a graduate of the University of Regina in Visual Arts with a minor in Creative Technologies and a member of SK Printmakers and SaskQueer.
To share your art is an act of vulnerability.
As an emerging artist, I'm grateful to have been featured in solo and group exhibitions for my drawing, printmaking and installation pieces in both local galleries and others across the prairies. Still figuring it out as I go... thanks for stopping by.
